The writer, Phil Munkins, focused on the U-factor, a relationship he simplistically described as “the more air between the glass, the better insulator it is.” He notes the U-factor as the essential quality of a window and cites the NFRC Web site as the best resource for information on the U-factor and other related issues.

Among other points, the author called for windows that were properly installed and have an overall rating determined by NFRC.
