Attention! Label Changes Approved at Spring Meeting

New Disclaimer, Registered Trademark Logo Required on All Newly Printed Labels

Effective immediately, all newly printed labels must include disclaimer language as approved by NFRC's Board of Directors. That change, along with the new registered trademark symbol on the NFRC logo, are to be included on all newly printed labels beginning 45 days after publication and on all labels no later than April 1, 2006. The new language added to the label reads, “NFRC does not recommend any product and does not warrant the suitability of any product for any specific use.”

This new language is intended to communicate that while NFRC ratings provide certain energy performance values for products based on NFRC procedures, the organization does not endorse or recommend specific products.

For updated graphics and logo art, or if you have any questions, contact Jessica Ferris, NFRC's Certification Manager at NFRC headquarters.
