NFRC Summer Membership Meeting Features Live CMAST Demonstration Charlie Curcija, of Carli, Inc., provided a live demonstration of CMAST, the software tool for the Component Modeling Approach (CMA) program, to NFRC’s Board of Directors during the organization’s Summer Membership Meeting, in July. CMA is NFRC’s new program to rate and certify commercial fenestration projects, expected to be fully launched in January 2010. Curcija described CMAST’s ease of use as he demonstrated the multiple benefits the software provides. These benefits include client-based and Web-based functionalities, including the ability to maintain libraries of component data, define projects, assemble components, and to calculate whole-product ratings. For more information on NFRC’s CMA Pilot Project, visit the CMA information page online, or contact Jessica Ferris, CMA program manager, at jferris@nfrc.org. NFRC made considerable progress on finalizing the 2010 edition of its technical documents. To no surprise, the discussions during the week showed that, although NFRC is getting things done, there is still much work to do. Questions remain about the rating of attachment products, and some opportunities with regard to thermophysical properties of materials were identified. |
