NFRC Refines Strategic Direction

During the opening session of the NFRC Summer Membership Meeting, in Baltimore, NFRC Chair Joe Hayden announced an updated strategic direction for the organization.

The Board of Directors revised NFRC’s vision, mission statement, core values, and goals during a retreat this spring. The new and improved strategic direction is designed to strengthen the organization, evaluate and improve existing NFRC activities and programs, create new programs as needed, and anticipate the future with a long-term global focus.

Hayden considered the new planning initiative a refinement to NFRC’s previous strategic direction. He described the new version as more progressive and more responsive to the current needs of the public and the fenestration industry.

The new strategic initiative eliminates geographical boundaries from NFRC’s vision. According to Hayden, NFRC should be the recognized leader in energy performance rating and certification programs for fenestration products anywhere.

Under the updated strategic initiative, the NFRC’s mission is to develop and administer energy-related ratings and certification programs that serve the public by providing fair, accurate, and credible information on fenestration performance.

The initiative also emphasizes NFRC’s consensus-driven rating and approval process, guided by mutual respect, commitment, and integrity.
