Codes Update Here are some of the recent code developments on the horizon being reported by the Building Codes Assistance Project (at www.bcap-energy.org): On August 3, in New Mexico, the city of Albuquerque approved legislation for a new local energy code that would go into effect on December 1, 2009, if Albuquerque’s mayor signs the bill. The code would include a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) requirement of 0.40. |
