Chair’s Message

Message of Thanks

The holiday season is upon us, and naturally my thoughts turn to the blessings in my life: my family, my friends, my colleagues.  In some cases, they’re one and the same.

That’s certainly true of NFRC.  I’ve been around long enough to think of many of my fellow fenestrators as all three.  So I’d like to use my final column of 2006 to say thank you to some very special people.

First, I want to thank my fellow Board members, who devote countless hours to making sure that NFRC lives up to its mission to serve the public with fair, accurate, and credible energy performance ratings.  It’s incredibly hard work, and they do it with grace and dignity.

Second, thank you to the NFRC members who volunteer so much of their time and energy to make NFRC grow.  This is especially true of those who are spearheading our proposed Component Modeling Approach, which has required hundreds of hours over the last year or two. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.

Finally, a very big thank you to our wonderful NFRC staff. Without these dedicated professionals, everything the Board and membership do simply would not work.

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday season, and takes some time to think about all of the things for which they are thankful.

I look forward to another successful year in 2007!

Marcia Falke
