Dennis Anderson Joins the NFRC Team

Latest Hire to Serve as Laboratory Accreditation Program Associate

Greenbelt, Md., May 22, 2008 – The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) today announced industry veteran Dennis Anderson as the latest addition to its staff. Anderson will serve as NFRC's new Laboratory Accreditation Program Associate.

"We are pleased to welcome Dennis to our staff," said NFRC Executive Director Jim Benney. "He brings with him many years of industry experience, including laboratory and field testing of fenestration products."

NFRC's Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) sets the requirements for testing and simulation laboratories participating in NFRC's Certification Program. In this position, Dennis will work directly with Scott Hanlon, NFRC's Laboratory Accreditation Program Manager. Together, they will oversee all relevant program documents and conduct annual laboratory inspections and evaluations.

Previously, Dennis served as the laboratory manager for Architectural Testing, Inc.'s (ATI) regional laboratory in St. Paul, Minn. In that role, he managed a team responsible for thermal, structural, and acoustical testing of fenestration products. He was the company's NFRC Certified Simulator for calculating U-factor, solar heat gain coefficient, and visible light transmittance. Dennis also served as an expert consultant on multi-family acoustical noise complaints and condensation issues in residential/commercial buildings.

"In his previous positions, Dennis closely followed and participated in NFRC activities," added Benney. "His comprehensive understanding of NFRC procedures and standards makes him a great fit for our organization."

Before joining ATI, Dennis was a project engineer for Twin City Testing Corporation where he conducted testing of windows and doors for product certification and assisted clients with design problems.

Dennis is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served two years on active duty and nine years on reserve duty. He also is a graduate of St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, Minn.
