NFRC Welcoms Deborah Callahan as its
First Deputy Executive Director

, Md. - May 10, 2005 - Deborah L. Callahan joined the National
Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) as its first Deputy Executive
Director in April 2005. The new position was created to manage
additional administrative duties as the organization continues
to grow in size and scope. As Deputy Executive Director, Callahan
will oversee NFRC's day-to-day operations
in the areas of finance and budgets, legal services, membership
and meeting services, human resources, and information technology.
A
seasoned association manager, Callahan has extensive experience
in the areas of strategic and business planning, database/Web
and program management, and operations. "While the subject
matter is certainly a new area for me, my first impression is
that NFRC is a great organization, with dedicated/hardworking
staff. I look forward to working with both the staff and the membership,"
she said.
"Deborah
brings new and fresh perspectives to the organization and we're
glad to have her aboard," said Jim Benney, NFRC's executive
director.
Callahan
comes to the NFRC from the National Association of Children's
Hospitals and Related Institutions (NACHRI ) where she served
for over eight years as the Director of Management Information
Services. Prior to NACHRI, she was the Director of Education and
Information Resources at the Foundation for Chiropractic Education
and Research.
Callahan
holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wells College and Master of Arts
in history from George Mason University . She is currently working
on her Certified Association Executive certification from the
American Society of Association Executives.
NFRC
is a non-profit organization that administers a voluntary, uniform
rating and labeling system for the energy performance of windows,
doors, curtain walls and skylights. Its members include manufacturers,
suppliers, utilities, consumer groups, representatives from the
building and code industries, and government agencies.
