2008 NFRC Board Election, Vote Today!
Whether Republican or Democrat, voters have caught election fever. Now it’s time to carry that enthusiasm to the 2008 NFRC Board of Directors election.
Five seats are open this year, so NFRC Voting Members, please make sure to log onto NFRC’s voting site and exercise your membership privilege to vote. The voting deadline is Friday, Oct. 24, 2008. The results will be unveiled at the Fall Membership Meeting in Jacksonville, Fla., which just so happens to be taking place during the 2008 presidential election on Nov. 4. Attendees, don’t forget to get your absentee ballots counted!
The role of the NFRC Board of Directors is to make sure that the ratings prescribed and published by NFRC support our stakeholders in selecting, specifying or evaluating fenestration systems in terms of energy efficiency.
The Board is comprised of three main categories, including general interest, fenestration industry, and laboratory interest. In total, the fenestration industry category has five seats, the laboratory category has one seat and the general interest category has six seats. The Board is weighted towards the general interest category because of NFRC’s 501(c)(3) status, the six seats in the category ensure that NFRC continues to work towards the public interest. This year, voters will elect new Board Members in the general interest and fenestration industry categories.
For some open seats there are multiple nominees, and for others there is just one nominee running. Some nominees are running uncontested as a result of the nomination process in which the Board asks the membership for potential nominees.
