NFRC Volunteer Leadership - a GUIDE:

NFRC relies heavily on the support of Volunteer Leadership from the stakeholders in the energy/fenestration industry.  NFRC meetings at every level from full membership meetings to the smaller task group meetings can only be truly successful with the cooperation of the volunteer Chairs of our Committees, Subcommittees and Task Groups.

Please note below important GENERAL Requirements of Chairs within the NFRC organization.  Also noted below are the upcoming deadlines (jump to deadlines) for the next NFRC Membership Meeting.

Staff Liaisons Here to Support YOU!

The NFRC headquarter's staff are here to assist you to achieve your group's goals.

Staff has put together this handy guideline for our meeting leadership based on the Robert's Rules. A training will be held once a year - you may also review here.

If we can be of any service (including conference call requests) - please contact your committee liaison as listed below (subject to change):

Does your Task Group Need time at the Upcoming meeting?:

Time requests at the NFRC meeting need to be requested in advance and approved by the chair person of the subcommittee and committee over each task group.  Please be sure to get your requests in by the deadline (copying the staff liaison, and appropriate chairs). (No Task groups at the Committee Week Meeting - contact your liaison above to schedule a web meeting)

Guideline for AGENDA Submittal:

  • All material to be presented or discussed at an NFRC scheduled meeting shall be published as a listed item of the NFRC meeting agenda - These need to be SUBSTANTIAL documents, clearly outlining the items to be discussed at the upcoming meeting.
  •  It is imperative that the NFRC membership is able to access these agendas BEFORE HAND in order to be properly prepared for the meetings, SO PLEASE get these in to staff before or on the deadline specified. (Upcoming deadline - Monday, February 13, 2012)
  • Issues not included on the published agenda can be brought up as announcements or for preliminary discussion only.
  • No final action is to be taken on any item not specifically listed on the published agenda.
  • Agenda Templates available for your use - contact your staff liaison above, they will be happy to provide.

Guideline for PRESENTATION Submittal:

All significant written or electronic presentations or documents to be handed out during the NFRC meeting shall be submitted to the committee chair and NFRC staff for review and determination of compliance with any applicable NFRC requirements.

  • The presentations shall be submitted to the respective chair, who in turn would provide a copy to NFRC staff, no later than 15 calendar days before the NFRC meeting date (Upcoming deadline - Monday, March 12, 2012)
